Did the Nephites
and Jaredites really live in the regions around the Hill Cumorah? |
When one
contemplates the current landscape of the regions around the Hill Cumorah,
it becomes obvious why they have been overlooked so long in the on-going
search for Book of Mormon territory. Although "the land of many
waters" still graces the region, many of the

Lands of the Book of Mormon
A few initial segments have been
presented here to acquaint
the reader with
the basic lay of the ancient landscape of the northeastern United States
and the New York setting which this author suggests was home to both the
early Jaredites and later the Nephites. Following this review, a series of
other segments will be presented which will deal with a few of the controversial
subjects and differences between the New York and Mesoamerica settings. Click on One of the Links

New York versus
Mesoamerica
I believe each Mesoamerica theorist to be
honest in his
approach and hopeful that his work will prove valid and add further insights
into the study of the Book of Mormon. Even so, while one must depend upon the Spirit
to reveal the truth of any given subject, the discovery process often
requires the critique of differing views before one idea is accepted over
another. Those who foster the older views of Book of Mormon geography have
offered their critiques of the various new theories which take the lands of
the Book of Mormon from Mesoamerica into the lands around New York’s Hill
Cumorah, but little has been available showing the differences between the
older and newer theories. For that reason, a few of those differences will
be presented here, beginning with a treatment of how the various theories
came into being in the first place.

Follow the saga of the Nephites and Jaredites from their entrance into the promised land to their ultimate doom at the Hill Ramah/Cumorah—a territory that still echoes with the sound of clashing swords, for artifacts of warfare have been found by the hundreds and by the thousands, and ancient fortifications dot the entire countryside. Nowhere else on earth is so suited to be the homeland of the ancient Nephites and Jaredites. The Lost Lands of the Book of Mormon is both a geographical and historical study guide and is liberally illustrated with maps to help the reader follow the journey of the Ancients from city to city and from land to land. The book also reveals the uncanny similarities between the numerous scriptural descriptions of Book of Mormon territory and the lands of western New York. After reading this book and discovering the many clear evidences of those ancient civilizations that once populated the region you will never look at New York in the same way again. |
